The science behind Deep Pore Cleanser

Rio Deep Pore Cleanser harnesses the power of Galvanic technology which has been used in beauty salons for many years to hold back the signs of facial aging. Faradic technology is a form of Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) which gently tones the facial muscles to rejuvenate the skin.

The deep cleansing treatment uses a process known as Desincrustation which works by softening sebum and then drawing out impurities from the skin, removing deep down dirt so that you can really feel – and see the difference. The moisturizing treatment then uses Iontophoresis – an infusion treatment which pumps active ingredients back into the skin.

What you can expect to feel

How to Use:

Step 1: Attach the power lead and plug into the power socket

Step 2: Attach a microdermabrasion disc. Press on firmly

Step 3: Push the slide button up once for clockwise rotation and down once for anti-clockwise rotation. The most effective way to remove hair is to work in the oppositte direction of hair growth.

Step 4: Bring the disc gently into contact with the skin keeping it fairly flat. The ideal pressure will only cause the motor to slow slightly and you will feel a tingling sensation. If you are removing a lot of hair the first treatment may take some time.

Step 5: Use a circular motion and work against the direction of hair growth.

Step 6: Once you have finished turn the control unit off. Wipe over the treated area with a tissue or a damp cloth.

How to Use:

Step 1: Apply a generous amount of conductive gel to each of the metal contacts. This is important to minimise the tingly sensation by maintaining good conductive contact with the skin.

Step 2: Turn the unit on by pressing the Programme & On/ Off button briefly, the light will turn green. The unit will start in Programme 1, the Programme & On/ Off light will flash once. Note: To select Programme 2, press theProgramme & On/Off button briefly again. The green light will flash twice to indicate Programme 2 is selected. Step 3: Place both contacts on the skin within your chosen treatment area as near to the trigger point location as possible.

If you do not feel a muscle contraction adjust the position of your contacts within the trigger point region. On higher intensity levels it is quite normal to feel significant tingling along with the muscle contractions. You may increase or decrease intensity at anytime by pressing the ( ) or (-) button.

Step 5: When muscle contractions are felt, hold the unit in position for a maximum of 3 minutes depending on intensity level and comfort. Always re-apply gel and reduce the intensity level before moving onto the next trigger point location within your treatment area.

Step 6: After use, switch the unit off by pressing and holding the Programme & On/ Off button for 2 seconds. If left unused, the unit will automatically switch off after 10 minutes.

How does advanced EMS work?

EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) uses small electrical impulses to stimulate your muscles in a process know as passive exercise. This stimulation is similar to the nerve pulses which cause muscles to contract and relax during active exercise. The main difference is that you don’t have to think about it. The resulting EMS muscle contractions cause toning, strengthening and combat flabbiness.

How to Use:

Step 1: Before you begin treatment it is important to do a patch test on an inconspicuous area of your skin for possible skin reaction. Wait 24 hours to see if any irritation occurs.

Step 2: To use apply a generous amount of conductive gel to each of the gold contacts and place in one of just three positions.  Turn on and the toning action will begin. You have total control easily increasing or decreasing the intensity while feeling the muscles contracting and relaxing in a rhythmic toning workout.

We recommend using the 60 Second Neck Toner for a maximum of 60 seconds on any one treatment area and for just 3 minutes in total per session.

Programmes

The Rio 60 Second Neck Toner has three exercise programmes. Best results are achieved by varying the programme used. We recommend using Programme 1 on one day, followed by Programme 2 on the second day, followed by Programme 3 on the third day, and so on.

Firming Programme: Rhythmic muscle contractions to condition muscles with a short interval between each pulse. The muscle contraction lasts for 2 seconds followed by a 3 second pause.

Extended Firming Programme: This offers an extended muscle contraction with pre-programmed varying intensity to maximise the work-out. The extended contraction lasts for 9 seconds followed by a 4 second pause.

Tap Toning Programme: Rapid stimulation to simulate deep massaging action. The pulsing massage action lasts for 5 seconds followed by a 3 second pause.

To begin with the pulses give a mild tingling sensation and as the intensity is increased you will start to notice muscle contractions. NOTE: Power can only be increased during the contraction time. The muscle contractions are smooth and each contraction will start with a slow rise, hold itself in a contracted position for a few seconds and then gently relax.
